Turkey Time and a freebie

We are in full Thanksgiving mode in our classroom! To begin our Thanksgiving unit, I send home the following note to students before Halloween, in hopes to get all feathers returned so that I can display our turkey on November 1st.

Here is our turkey this year. I love the diversity of each feather!!! Some parents are super crafty and some students do it all on their own (which I love just as much!)

I am STILL working on my Thanksgiving unit! This time change is killing me people! I’m in bed at 9:00 feeling like it is 11:00! Whew! I did manage to make this little reader to share with y’all. I LOVE this adorable clipart from Nicole at

  1. I love the big turkey with the feathers! We usually send home a full turkey and have the families decorate, but I like the feather idea instead. What is the feather size that you send home?
