Halloween and Red Ribbon Week Review

Lord have mercy. I have no idea how I survived those last 2 weeks! We had Red Ribbon week for not 1 week, but almost 2 whole weeks!!!!! It started off with the 50th Day of School a week ago Wednesday. Here is my team:

The next day we had Rock and Roll day. Here is my assistant and me. Tattoo sleeves and all complementary of the Dollar Tree!

Friday was Camo Day. Hey...we are from Kentucky. We've got that!

Monday was Pajama Day and sadly no picture! :(

Tuesday was Superhero Day! The kids LOVED that day!

Wednesday was Spirit Day...just school shirt (and jeans!!!)

Thursday for Halloween we were a Baseball Team. We had these shirts ordered this past summer so we went with it...it was easy! :)

So much fun!!! The funny thing about all of those pictures...they were taken on my phone by a 5 year old! :) You cannot believe how many takes it took to get no fingers on the lenses, not a straight shot up. etc. etc. We had a blast but WHEW WEE! I'm so ready for normal next week!!!!  I'll be back tomorrow with my Peek at the Week and my newly updated (and doubled) Thanksgiving unit! :)

Red Ribbon Week

It's that time again....Red Ribbon Week. Look. I have a love/hate relationship with that week. First of all...I am ALL ABOUT what it promotes. Seriously. Love it. I hate drugs. Despise them. I am proud to say I have NEVER tried a drug. Ever. I don't understand why someone would even try it. The thought of my sweet kinders ever getting involved with that stuff scares me to death. And since we (as in our tri-state) is like the meth capital OF THE WORLD....I have every right to be concerned. I love that the kiddos get a chance to celebrate being drug free. I love that we discuss what drugs can do to their life. My hate part....the HYPE that comes with it. As if Halloween doesn't make those kiddos CRAY CRAY enough...we add in dress up days for a week before. Whew Wee! Let me tell ya. It's enough to throw me off the deep end. But hey! It's not all about me, is it? Our school guidance counselor does a wonderful job with Red Ribbon Week. Here are our themes this year:

I may or may not have gone to Wal-Mart tonight to stock up on goods for the week. I'll share pictures of my team in our outfits from the week later. What do you have planned?

Red Ribbon Week

We always have Red Ribbon Week the week before Halloween. As if Halloween doesn't get excited enough, we have a week FULL of fun activities to go along with it. By the time Halloween comes around, I am one pooped teacher. I actually have purchased several pieces of clothing that I keep in a tub until Red Ribbon Week because we usually have about the same dress up days each year.
This year we aren't just celebrating for 1 week but 1 1/2 weeks since Halloween falls on a Wednesday. Whew Wee! Our guidance counselor does a great job of getting this week ready and having something small for each child each day (pencil, sticker, etc.)  Here is our week(s):

What do you do at your school?
