Fall Break, An Update, and More

Well, to say I had a relaxing fall break would be a lie. It was nothing but relaxing, but it was FUN! We went to Disney...our first time as a family! Blast! It was hot and we packed it all in. We got home Friday to the chilly weather, but I am loving it. Fall is my favorite season by far.
The week before we left, we did our apple unit. We had a fun filled apple day on Friday. (Unfortunately, my camera with the pictures is at school!)

This week we are starting our pumpkin unit! Lots of fun to be had! One thing we will definitely be starting is our Count of Halloween unit! I have updated this with SUPER cute clipart!

This is a Halloween themed counting book you can use as a craftivity book or a coloring book. The kiddos LOVE to work on this all month then sing it to the parents at the Halloween party! Want this? Head on over to my Facebook page where I am having a giveaway that ends tonight at 9 CST.

Halloween and Red Ribbon Week Review

Lord have mercy. I have no idea how I survived those last 2 weeks! We had Red Ribbon week for not 1 week, but almost 2 whole weeks!!!!! It started off with the 50th Day of School a week ago Wednesday. Here is my team:

The next day we had Rock and Roll day. Here is my assistant and me. Tattoo sleeves and all complementary of the Dollar Tree!

Friday was Camo Day. Hey...we are from Kentucky. We've got that!

Monday was Pajama Day and sadly no picture! :(

Tuesday was Superhero Day! The kids LOVED that day!

Wednesday was Spirit Day...just school shirt (and jeans!!!)

Thursday for Halloween we were a Baseball Team. We had these shirts ordered this past summer so we went with it...it was easy! :)

So much fun!!! The funny thing about all of those pictures...they were taken on my phone by a 5 year old! :) You cannot believe how many takes it took to get no fingers on the lenses, not a straight shot up. etc. etc. We had a blast but WHEW WEE! I'm so ready for normal next week!!!!  I'll be back tomorrow with my Peek at the Week and my newly updated (and doubled) Thanksgiving unit! :)

A Peek At My Week

I'm back for my weekly Peek At My Week. I have to say I am SO proud of myself for keeping up with this! This is a short week for us. Thank goodness our district had mercy on us and made the day after Halloween a PD day.... no crazy sugared up sweet kiddos! I decided to make a couple of changed to my plans for you to view. I took out the daily schedule with what I do whole group. I know that when I go to look at everyone's peek...I'm looking for center ideas. That is what I look at and often end up clicking on and purchasing. I felt like the first 2 pages were repetitive and I didn't have a lot of detail in them so - I thought I would try this. Please let me know if you like this or you would rather have the whole thing! I'm still tweaking and it isn't quite where I want it be yet!

Since it is a 4 day week, we aren't doing some centers twice (like usual). I'm looking forward to a CRAZY fun week! I'll be back later with pics from our red ribbon week!!!

A Peek At My Week and 2 FREEBIES!!!

Well, this week about whipped my booty! A return from a week at the beach, a 12 hour shift including parent/teacher conferences, a full moon, and a day FULL of pumpkins - whew! My body or brain was not ready for that. Thankfully, I have the sweetest class ever and they were very good! Here is my Peek at the Week. Lots of great units from my good blogging buddies!

I ADORE that Halloween writing from TGIF! I swear it is the cutest! Having said that...my kiddos aren't NEAR where my kiddos used to be at this time. We are implementing a new reading series and it is a lot slower than I have done in the past. It might be a little hairy...but we will get it!!!!

I have 2 freebies for you. Click on my plans above, and download the PDF from Google. It will then have clickable links to take you to my 2 freebies - 5 Little Pumpkins Book and Halloween Ordering! I'm linking up with Deedee for her Peek at my Week Linky party!

I'll be back tomorrow with a close look at our Pumpkin Day from Friday with lots of pictures. Including a big WHOOPS picture. Also to come this week. A look at our Red Ribbon Week this year!

Halloween Fun

So much fun today but oh.my.goodness!!! I am EX.HAUST.ED!!!! I'm heading to bed soon but wanted to share my Halloween costume. My assistant and I were cry babies!!!

It was so funny. Anytime as student would come up and ask us a question or talk to us, we would start "Boo Hooing".  I would stick my paci in my mouth too!

I have to show you these ADORABLE bags a parent made for each kiddo.

Cute, right? Oh. And I had a parent make double doozies for my kiddos. Not all the kids wanted them and there were 6 left over and I had to bring them home. Awww. Hate that!

I decided to join the crew and have a sale in my TPT store now through Sunday the 28th!

What We've Been Doing

We've been having a lot of fun lately. I'll be honest....I'm pooped! So ready for the weekend! Here are a few things we have done this week.

I LOVE this Halloween writing from Thank God It's First Grade. You can grab yours here:

Look at this cutey with arms!!!!

We also did the Adorable Witch Craft from Miss Kindergarten. LOVE!

You can grab yours here.

We also made some ghost feet. I think I might have gotten this idea from The Mailbox YEARS ago. I save it and put it in their scrapbook. Can you see that grin? She was SO ticklish.

I also let them choose thier favorite peice of candy and eat it. I save the wrapper and glue it over the line! Pretty cute huh? What have you been doing?

The "Count" of Halloween

I am so excited to finally be posting this book! My mentor teacher introduced this book to me when I first began working with her 11 years ago! (I cannot believe I have been teaching that long. EEK!) She began using it 30+ years ago when she was student teaching!!! She has now retired and is moving to a beautiful island in a beautiful new home. Sigh. I asked her about using the book, tweaking it a bit, and posting it on TPT and she said SURE! So...here it is!

This is an ADORABLE numbers 1-10 craftivity book to complete in your classroom during the Halloween season! There are many different ways you can do this ranging from print and color to full on crafting! We do so many crafts at Halloween in our classroom so we go ALL OUT!

I begin this book at the beginning of October in my classroom (think next week) and do 2-3 pages a week until the holiday! Each student makes their own book. I know 200 copies seems like a lot but it is so worth it when you see their little faces light up as they read it and take ownership in that they made it! We mostly do the craft version except for the last 2-3 pages, just due to time.

I try to finish these up a few days before Halloween. I make sure they are bound and we pass them out at our Halloween party and read/sing the book to our parents! Did I mention this book is actually "sung" to the tune of "The Muffin Man".

I swear you will love this book! Just click on the image above or below to grab yours!
